  • What are the effects of the thermal cure?

The thermal cure has different physical and emotional effects on our organism. The mineral composition and temperature of the waters produces chemical, biological and sedative effects on our body, and these are also enhanced by the location of the spas –normally in the heart of nature– which acts as a source of relaxation for our senses.

  • What types of waters are indicated for each speciality?

Sodium-rich waters are stimulating.
Sulphur-rich waters have a beneficial action on the skin, the respiratory tract and the locomotive system.
Iron-rich waters favour the regeneration of the blood, improve cases of anaemia and have a positive action on skin complaints, as well as being useful in weight loss regimes.
Radioactive waters have an analgesic effect and are good for counteracting stress, anxiety and depression.
Sulphate-rich waters have a laxative and diuretic effect.
Bicarbonated waters are recommended for complaints of the digestive system.
Carbonated waters stimulate the appetite and promote the correct functioning of the circulatory system.

  • What is the recommended duration of a spa therapy treatment?

When the spa is used to treat specific types of complaints, in order for the treatment to be effective the recommended period is between 14 and 21 days. But if the aim is simply to de-stress and relax, fewer days are usually enough.

In spas, these are mineral-medicinal waters declared of Public Utility; whereas water therapy centres use seawater and spa centres use normal water.
